After two years of writing and rewriting, I finally have Open Fire right where I want it to be!
They say that author's leave pieces of themselves in their books, hints to past events or parts of their personality, like a Horcrox actually... this is entirely true with Open Fire.
Mia was never supposed to be weak, she was envisioned as a strong and powerful character. The first version was influenced by my emotions and reality; and so the book became something I didn't want it to be. I wanted the book to be about Mia's journey, how love prevails or fails, and how the past will haunt you everywhere you go.
Rewriting Open Fire took a lot of guts and courage, but I couldn't be happier with how the story and the cover turned out!
